Fr. Eric’s Birthday Fundraiser to Upgrade the Motherhouse Internet

December 14, 2018

andrews-2016-400On Tuesday, December 18, Paulist Fr. Eric Andrews, president of the Paulist Fathers, turns 54 years old.

December 18 also is the 199th anniversary of the birth in 1819 of Servant of God Isaac Hecker, founder of the Paulist Fathers. It is the start of a year of commemorative events leading up to the bicentennial of Fr. Hecker’s birth on December 18, 2019.

To celebrate these two birthdays, friends of Fr. Eric – and fans of Fr. Hecker’s ministry – may contribute to this special fundraising campaign to benefit a much-needed technology upgrade at the Paulist Fathers Motherhouse on West 59th Street in New York City.

Funds raised will be used to replace the Ethernet cables and patchwork internet infrastructure throughout the 1930s building.

Recently, the internet for the Paulist national offices (including Vocations, Mission Advancement and Busted Halo), as well as the Paulist Fathers’ living quarters, has grown increasingly unreliable – causing work stoppages for our lay staff members and the 20-plus Paulists who reside at the Motherhouse.

With this upgrade, the Paulist Motherhouse will gain the technological infrastructure needed to ensure that we never miss an opportunity to share the Good News!

From Fr. Eric:

isaac_hecker_birthday_bicentennial-400I pray that you and your loved ones are in the midst of a blessed Advent! Thank you for considering this request to galvanize our ministries!

When he was alive, Servant of God Isaac Hecker asked the Paulists “to use all forms of modern communication to share the Good News.” So, by improving our technology, we are heeding Fr. Hecker’s missionary call.

Please make a gift at whatever level works best for you. We need contributions of all sizes for this effort to be a success.

I would be overjoyed, not offended, if you gave one dollar for each year of my life so far: $54. Better yet, a gift of $199 would honor Fr. Hecker’s birthday and help us continue his legacy!

Regardless of your ability to give, pray for us! We pray that you, your family members and friends have a joyful Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

Sincerely yours in Christ,
