Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York, comments on the 200th anniversary of the birth of Servant of God Isaac Hecker, founder of the Paulist Fathers.

Fr. Hecker was born on December 18, 1819, in New York City, the son of German immigrants. Together with his associates, he founded the Paulist Fathers in 1858.
