Paulist Fr. Vincent Walter "Vinny" McKiernan was born Jan. 15, 1931.

He grew up in Inwood, the northernmost neighborhood in Manhattan in New York City. He attended Inwood's Good Shepherd Church, which was then served the Paulist Fathers.

Fr. Vinny made his first promises to the Paulist community on Sept. 8, 1951.

He was ordained a priest on May 11, 1957.

For some 30 years, Fr. Vinny served as a Catholic campus minister at St. Thomas More Newman Center at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH.

He previously served on the faculty at our seminary; as our community's director of novices; and on the staff of the Paulist Center in Boston. 

He also is an experienced retreat director who conducts retreats on “Centering Prayer,” “Healing Life's Hurts” and “Praying Your Life.”
