We pray this day for our new president
that you may give him a double portion of your
Holy Spirit of Wisdom
so that he may always act
in accord with your will
govern with justice
seek peace for your people
care for creation
act for religious freedom
and equity for all.

Help him to support all families
that they will have what they need
to fulfill their mission
to love each other
and build up society.

Bless all our leaders both
civil and religious that they will
learn to work together
to serve your people
who are precious to you
who have been saved
by Jesus Christ
who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit
for ever and ever.
