Daughters of Mary and Joseph and Paulist Fathers

Today, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Community, the parish we serve in Los Angeles, celebrates the 200th anniversary year of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph.

The bicentennial will be celebrated during the 11:30 a.m. Mass and at a reception after Mass.

The Daughters of Mary and Joseph were founded in Belgium in 1817 and came to California in 1926.

They have served at St. Paul the Apostle in Los Angeles since 1935, primarily through St. Paul the Apostle School.

The parish writes:

“We look forward to celebrating the Daughters of Mary and Joseph past and present, and give special thanks for the dedication of Sister Stella, Sister Enda, and Sister Theresa, who grace us with their faith and wisdom every day at St. Paul the Apostle School.”

The historic photo above shows some of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph with Paulist Fathers many decades ago.

We pray in thanksgiving to God for these dedicated women religious! May God bless them and all they do!
