Help St. Patrick's Catholic American Parish in Rome!

Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus, the parish served by the Paulist Fathers in Rome, Italy, is suffering from significant financial difficulty.

Dear friends,

We pray for all those people around the world who have been impacted by the COVID-19 coronavirus. In a special way, we pray for those who have died, and for those who mourn them.

We pray for those who are being treated for the coronavirus, for those who are quarantined, and for their healthcare providers.

And, we pray for public officials and all those tasked with leading the world out of this crisis.

In addition to joining us in these prayers, we also are in need of your help for our ministries that have been greatly impacted by COVID-19, such as St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish in Rome, Italy, our ministry for Americans and other English-speakers in the Eternal City.

St. Patrick’s was the first Paulist parish where celebration of daily and Sunday Masses were prohibited by Church decree, as part of Italy’s nationwide lockdown to protect the public from COVID 19 infection and minimize spread. This restriction was lifted at the end of May.

We are now celebrating public Mass with all precautions and protocols for social distancing in place, as well as live-streaming several Masses each week. Still, anyone in a high-risk category is encouraged not  to attend.

The financial toll of fewer Masses, fewer faithful present and the complete absence of tourists from the U.S. has made it extremely difficult for St. Patrick’s to continue to operate and pay the salaries of our employees.

Would you be willing to make a financial gift to St. Patrick’s so that the parish may continue to meet its obligations during this time of crisis?

Online donations made here at paulist.org will be sent by the Paulist Fathers to the parish in Rome.

Alternatively, donors may visit St. Patrick’s website to give directly to the parish via PayPal. (You will see a box labeled “Donate” on the parish’s home page).

Donors who would like to make a gift in U.S. dollars by check may mail gifts directly to:
