Dorm Room Care Package

Part of Busted Halo’s outreach to young people who are disconnected from the Church includes meeting them where they are – and this month, many young adults are headed back to school. Whether for the first time as a freshman, or later in life as a graduate student, all young adults can use a little help with their transition.

So, we’ve developed a Dorm Room Care Package with articles and resources on topics such as budgeting, avoiding procrastination, living with roommates, and dealing with homesickness. We have a list of foods that will help you fight stress and suggestions for finding a new church in your community. Our “Dorm Room Blessing” and “Dorm Room Prayer” will help students connect to their faith while they’re living away from home.

One of my favorite things about this virtual care package is that many of the articles come from Busted Halo® interns who are students themselves and who face these same issues in college now. Through their struggles and revelations from living on your own, they have helped us reach young adults who are facing similar situations. It’s during these times of transition that faith and a connection to a church community can be most helpful.

Join me in praying for all students returning to college this fall – and if you are facing a transition in your own life, you might just find some useful items in our care package as well.
