Congratulations on 25 Years, Fr. Rick!

paulist_fr-_rick_walsh_1992Congratulations to Paulist Fr. Broderick “Rick” Walsh who today celebrates the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood!

Fr. Rick was ordained on May 9, 1992, at our mother church, the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, in New York City, by Archbishop John Roach of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis

A Massachusetts native, he earned his bachelor’s degree at St. John’s Seminary College.

Fr. Rick made his first promises to the Paulist community on August 6, 1988, and his final promises on January 25, 1992.

Fr. Rick has served as associate pastor of St. Austin Church in Austin, TX (1992 to 1995); an associate pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Knoxville, TN (1995 to 2001); on our mission band based at St. Philip Neri Church in Portland, OR (2001 to 2005); an associate pastor of the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City (2005 to 2007); and an associate pastor of St. Peter Church in Toronto (2007 to 2009).

Make a gift in honor of Fr. Rick’s anniversary

Since 2010, Fr. Rick has served at the Paulist Center in Boston. He has been superior of the Paulist Fathers in that city since 2014.

Fr. Rick directs the the Paulist Center’s marriage preparation program and has helped prepare more than 3,000 couples for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.

He also serves as a chaplain at the Massachusetts State House.

Fr. Rick will be the homilist at a special Mass on May 18 at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City during which all of the Paulist Fathers observing milestone anniversaries in 2017 will be honored.
