The Paulist community would like to provide an update to the faithful regarding our ongoing ministry in Toronto.
It is with great regret that the Paulist Fathers must share with you news of our intention to withdraw from ministry to St. Peter’s Parish and the Paulist Centre for Catholic Evangelization in Toronto, effective Sunday, June 28, 2015.
A Mass of the Resurrection was offered for Father James R. O’Gara, CSP, at St. Pascal Church in Chicago. Interment followed at Queen of Peace Cemetery. Father O'Gara died Aug. 8 in Chicago a the age of 80. He was a member of the Missionary Society of St. Paul the Apostle for 59 years and priest for 53 years.
A Mass of the Resurrection for Father Robert Lee Pinkston, CSP, will be held May 17 at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York City. Interment will follow the Mass in the Paulist section of St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery in Oak Ridge, N.J. A luncheon will then be served in the St. Thomas social hall. Father Pinkston died May 9 in New York City.
Join Father Tomaso Kane, CSP, and Father Tom Ryan, CSP, for a special study-pilgrimage as we explore the spiritual traditions of India and Nepal Jan. 30-Feb. 19, 2015. We will visit temples, learn of various spiritual traditions and see the intercultural mix of Christianity with many different world religions.
A funeral Mass for Rev. Mr. Richard Joseph Boudreau, CSP, will be offered on March 17 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Toronto. Rev. Mr. Boudreau died on March 6 in Toronto. He was 77 years old and a member of the Missionary Society of St. Paul the Apostle for 50 years. Interment will take place in the Boudreau family plot in St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford, Maine.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be offered for Father Philip William Hart, CSP, on Feb. 1 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Westwood. Interment will take place in Montreal, Quebec. Father Hart died yesterday, Jan. 22. He was a member of the Missionary Society of St. Paul the Apostle, the Paulist Fathers, for more than 40 years.
Father Hart was born on Aug. 16, 1941 in Montreal to Philip W. and Kathleen Johnson Hart. He maintained his Canadian citizenship and spoke French and English.
Father Lawrence McDonnell died on Jan. 23. A funeral Mass will be offered for Father McDonnell on Jan. 26 at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, 60th Street and Columbus Avenue in Manhattan. Father McDonnell was 85 years old at the time of his death, and a member of the Paulist Fathers for 65 years.
