The Paulist mission is evangelization which, for us, is not the narrow approach of the self-assured, but rather the open, dynamic, sensitive and compassionate proclamation of faith in ways people can hear:

We invite the seeker to faith;
We call Catholics to deeper faith or a return to the practice of their faith;
We work with other believers to build understanding and unity;
We find innovative ways to touch segments of society in cities and on college campuses; and
In every situation we exercise leadership, in the Spirit of Vatican II, in the Church in North America.

The Paulists and the people with whom and for whom we minister can, with dedication and generosity, further Father Hecker's vision of "a future brighter than any past."
For this reason, after long and careful consultation with our members and lay collaborators, the Paulists have decided that a full-scale fundraising campaign is critical to the future of our mission.

The Paulist Fathers have many opportunities to address the changing needs of the community by developing programs and ministries that will shape our future for years to come.

We seek to raise a minimum of 12 million dollars to support capital, programmatic and endowment needs in order to continue to grow important ministries, care for our increasing population of senior Paulists, prepare the next generation of Paulists for ministry and provide for local ministries. The funds raised would be allocated as follows:

Today we stand on the threshold of the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the Paulist Fathers. This occasion provides the opportunity for both reflecting on the past and preparing for the future. Today's Paulists have committed themselves, in these anniversary years, to manage our resources and secure the financial foundation to carry out our mission even more powerfully than in the past. Today's Paulists have committed themselves to a brighter future for the growth of faith in today's culture.
Father Hecker once wrote that he believed the union of the Church with the American culture would bring us a "future brighter than any past." As Paulists we look to the future with Hecker's enthusiasm:

a future made brighter because of those who support us and labor with us in our mission to North America;

  a future made brighter because our lay collaborators said yes to the vision that Paulists are important to the continued growth of the Church in the United States and Canada;

  a future made brighter because Paulists traveled and preached throughout North America on fire with the Spirit and trusting in God's providence.

Join us as we journey into that brighter future in which our Church lifts up a North American civilization in need of the many gifts which Jesus' revealing Word will bring it. Join us in giving the Word a Voice so that together we can realize Father Hecker's dream of "A Future Brighter Than Any Past."
