Greetings, I am Father
John F. Duffy, C.S.P.,
President of the Paulist
Fathers.
Ours is a missionary
community which from the
beginning has been a
strong and effective
voice for
evangelization,
conversion and renewal
for the people of North
America. In recent
decades we have also
tried to outreach to
inactive Catholics and
be committed to
fostering Christian
unity and understanding
and respect among people
of all faith traditions.
The Paulist Fathers
continue to give the
Word of God a voice; we
accomplish this is so
many ways: one-on-one
contact ; preaching and
teaching; video; the
printed word; radio or
on the Internet.
In the words of our
founder, Father Isaac
Hecker, "We strive to
meet the needs of the
church in the present
age." This
newly-refurbished,
constantly evolving Web
site is just one example
of how the Paulists
continue to utilize
contemporary means to
meet people and interact
with the times in which
they live.
We look forward to
sharing with you the
excitement and joy of
our 150th anniversary
celebrations later this year,
and will be inviting you
to become our partners
in ministry by
participating in our
capital campaign. We
hope you will also share
our prayers and joy as
we launch Father
Hecker's cause for
canonization.
The Church is facing
many challenges in
recent times.
Nevertheless, I am
greatly encouraged by
the optimism and energy
displayed by my Paulist
brothers and our many
co-workers and
associates at our spring
Assembly and ordination
celebration.
We invite you to
discover the rich
history, solid mission
and many great works of
the Paulist Fathers, our
lay colleagues and
members of our
worshipping communities.
All of these efforts
have been guided by the
Holy Spirit, inspired by
the example of Saint
Paul and have built upon
the legacy of Father
