Paulist Foundations in New York

The Paulists' history in New York dates back nearly two centuries to when Paulist founder Isaac Hecker was born in downtown Manhattan. Almost 200 years later, New York is the spiritual home of the Paulists and an important hub of Paulist life. The Church of St. Paul the Apostle, the Paulist mother church is located in Midtown Manhattan at Columbus Circle, the Paulist General Offices are in Queens, and St. Mary on the Lake, the Paulist retreat, is located on Lake George upstate.
