Paulist Ministry Centre
A Catholic Centre for Adult Religious Education.
In 1938, Father Francis W. Stone, C.S.P. founded the Catholic Information Centre of Toronto. From its humble beginnings in the basement of St. Peter’s Church on Bathurst, the Centre moved to its present location in 1956 where it continued to serve the Archdiocese of Toronto. In 1998 the Catholic Information Centre was renamed the Paulist Ministry Centre for Catholic Evangelization in order to better reflect type of work being done. The Centre's purpose and definition are derived from these fourfold mission directives of the Paulist Fathers: Evangelization, Christian Unity, Reconciliation, and Inter-religious Relations.
The Centre offers programs for the religious education and formation of adults. Working collaboratively with other ministries, the Centre works to advance Catholic/Christian faith and values by interpreting the Church to the modern world and the modern world to the Church. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is central to all the activities of the Centre as it strives to foster deeper understanding and spiritual development in order to meet the challenges of living as Catholics in a culturally and religiously diverse environment.
