Summary

The purpose of the Annual Giving Manager position is to help the Paulist Fathers grow true and accurate public support of the Mission, Programs, and Plans to its various audiences through a robust Annual Giving program.  It is vital that all efforts are not just high quality, but also are strategically designed to place the society where it needs and wants to be in its relationships with its supporters and the public; pursuing the goals of increasing visibility and sustainable private support.  The position’s three basic priorities are the Annual Paulist Appeal, managing development efforts for Busted Halo Ministries, and ongoing leadership annual giving and major gift cultivation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate a comprehensive annual fund program in collaboration with the Chief Advancement Officer and Senior Director of Mission Advancement, designed to broaden the donor base and increase overall participation and financial support
  • Review, plan, implement, and effectively execute the Annual Paulist Appeal program
  • Serve as the primary development liaison and partner for Busted Halo Ministries, a distinct mission effort within the Paulist Fathers organization focused on the use of media for reaching people outside the Church.
  • Oversee all annual giving fundraising programs including: managing a targeted direct mail program, a pro-active personal solicitation program, and incorporating electronic requests for gifts.
  • Grow the annual giving pipeline of donors year over year to include new general participation from the internal and external Paulist constituencies
  • Strategize, implement, and execute a new and improved online giving plan to potentially include but not be limited to an annual crowdfunding campaign
  • Participate as an active member of the Mission Advancement team
  • Encourage others within advancement and throughout the organization to assist with Annual Giving through both volunteer leadership and personal financial investment
  • Fulfill other Advancement duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Excellent writing, editing, and speaking abilities 
  • Preference to plan and act strategically, make decisions from tracking and analyzing data and evaluation of marketing effectiveness
  • Three to five years minimum experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, or other outside sales
  • Commitment to the mission of the Paulist Fathers, and an active history of enthusiastically promoting the organization or one of similar structure
  • Demonstrated excellence in planning, organizing, managing, and evaluation
