Paulist Center Groups Divorced Catholic Group (DCG)

All faiths welcome to our support group for the separated, divorced and widowed.
DCG offers support and understanding to people going through, or who have gone through, the pain of separation, divorce, or the death of a spouse.  DCG, comprised of both Catholics and non-Catholics, in all stages of the healing process, has an active social component.

Facilitated Closed Groups are welcome to meet when needed at no cost, though co-ed groups of six or more are encouraged. Run by two trained facilitators (not professional counselors), the group generally meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 7:30 to 9:00 pm with a commitment of eight sessions over four months.  Everything shared in the group is held in confidence

Speaker Meetings cover such topics as stress management, legal issues, financial issues, annulments, single parenting, cooking, and books of interest to the group.  There is usually one speaker per month on the second or fourth Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
Social Activities are arranged by the DCG Social Coordinator.  These events are varied, usually inexpensive, and are always a good time.  In the past they have included pot luck house parties, canoe trips, cookouts, plays, pool parties, Sunday brunches, walks in the woods and at Castle Island, Cape Cod beach days, and weekend getaways.

Many people from DCG attend the Sunday noon liturgy at the Paulist Center.  A coffee hour follows in the auditorium, sponsored by DCG.  This liturgy has become a Sunday meeting place for DCG members who often decide to spend the rest of the afternoon together walking around Boston, shopping, ice skating, or taking in dinner or a movie.
