Paulist Center Groups Bread Baking Ministry

The Bread Ministry has been active at the Paulist Center for many years. We are fortunate to have a dedicated and talented group of people who bake the communion bread for our weekend liturgies and for our liturgical celebrations.

Upon request we are able to provide bread for a variety of occasions such as weddings and funerals. In July, 2002, our bread bakers supplied the communion bread for the 4,200 participants at the Voice of the Faithful convention.

There are several ways you can participate and recipes are available:

  1. Bake bread whenever you are able to and bring it to the sacristy before the liturgy.
  2. Commit yourself to a bread baking schedule, about 4-5 times per year.
  3. Host a bread baking party with some of your friends or other community members. This can be done at home, or, with advance planning, in the Paulist Center kitchen.
